Mission Study Report and Addendum
In 2012, over the course of a single year, MPC conducted an in-depth study to better understand the past, present and future of our church. What we discovered was both enlightening and confirming. We encourage everyone with a little time and a lot of curiosity to read what we learned by downloading the report in PDF format.
The Mission Study Addendum, 2015
In 2014, the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee was tasked with updating the 2012 Mission Study as part of the nomination process. The resulting Mission Study Addendum is included below.
Background to the 2012 Report
Drawing inspiration from a substantial reading list on organizational structures and change, the Mission Study Team conducted qualitative and quantitative research with the congregation including Congregational meetings, one-on-one interviews, the survey, local church assessment, Montclair and Oakland demographic analysis, a review of MPC’s historical finances and membership, a survey of all of MPC’s committees, and a review of MPC’s history since the 1970s.

However, if you have any questions about the subject matter in one of the documents, it would be best to direct your question to the document’s creator who is listed on the front of the document itself. If that person can answer your question, terrific. If not, that person will bring your question to the group.
Thanks for your continued interest and care of MPC.
