The 2010 MPC Silent Auction

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
The Silent Auction is coming! Saturday January 9 as part of Yule Feast. With our fabulous feast we will have a silent auction**. The auction will continue through the following Sunday morning and close during the Family Hour. But be careful to bid during the Yule Feast on items where you really want to compete because some items will go that night and will not be available during the week. Most, however, will continue to be available during the week and the Family Hour.

The Catalog of Items Offered so far!

Items can be dropped off in the office with Christine.

Donation suggestions:
Host a meal or party.
Donate services.
Donate use of a vacation home for a weekend.
Donate items appealing to others, a step above a white elephant or rummage sale.
Donate something you have made like a flower arrangement, a quilt, a painting.
Donate Gift cards.
Consider filling a themed basket. Some fun ideas for baskets: gardening, recyclable green lunchbox items, wine & dine, pamper me, pet needs, international foods,
… just to name a few. Get creative with whatever you wish.

It would be great if every family could donate something. Financial contributions are always welcome too. How about some big ticket items?

Items that can be offered on a bid sheet should be emailed to Christine@mpcfamily.org Donations are tax deductible. Please include approximate value of your donation and minimum suggested bid. If you donate a gathering or a service or tour, please let Christine know the maximum number of guests or participants.

**A silent auction is a variant of an English auction where bids are written on a sheet of paper. At the predetermined end of the auction the highest listed bidder wins the item. The auction is "silent" in that there is no auctioneer, the bidders writing their bids on a bidding sheet left on a table near the item. The highest bidder is the winner and pays the price he or she submitted.
