Becoming a Member
MPC warmly welcomes persons from all backgrounds and faith traditions to join with our beloved community.
Many people who have said YES to our community have come from non-Christian backgrounds or no faith-tradition at all. Many of our members have more questions than answers and are nowhere close to being at the “end” of their journey of seeking.
Our pastor regularly offers a 2-3 hour conversation on membership with persons interested in making MPC their spiritual community. During this informal gathering we look at spiritual life, the ministry of MPC, what it means to be Presbyterian and how we exercise our consciences in opposing some of the exclusive stances of the Presbyterian Church, faith in Christ, worship, the sacraments as well as a host of other topics that always surface.
This conversation is a prerequisite for joining our community, but attending in no way obligates you to join. It will, however, help you make an informed decision, either way.
If you are someone who is:
- unfamiliar with Christianity and our denomination
- a current or former member of other Presbyterian or other Christian churches
- seeking a spiritual community
- we invite you to be in conversation with us about joining MPC or just getting involved!
