Yearly Events

The MPC Community enjoys a wide range of events throughout the year. Here are a few of the highlights:

The Fall Kickoff potluck lunch, held in mid-September, officially begins the new program year. Each year has its own theme; past themes have included grouping members by geographic region or birth or by Chinese horoscope sign.

The Faith Trio Harvest Dinner celebrates the ties we share with local Islamic and Jewish communities. The event rotates between three locations; in 2014, it was held at the MPC. Learn more about the event by visiting the Interfaith Harvest Dinner page.

Every other year, MPC hosts a Yule Feast to celebrate Twelfth Night. This fabulous event is both social and spiritual in nature, often featuring drama, singing, and Renaissance-style costumes.

An annual Church event for more than 30 years, Tahoe Family Camp (at Lake Tahoe) is a treasured experience for our MPC Family. This week-long experience includes thought-provoking discussions in the morning followed by community-building activities – such as dessert potlucks, sing-alongs and a talent show – in the afternoon and evening.
